Let me introduce myself!

Born in Muskegon, Mich. and very well traveled, my father was an officer in the Navy. I have been in every state of the U.S. except Alaska. Also, I've been to Mexico, Canada, Guam, Wake Island, Japan, and lived for two years on Okinawa. After attending two junior highs, one middle school, and three high schools, I was bitten by the theatre bug in high school but decided to eat regularly when choosing a career - education. I graduated with a certification in Communication Secondary Education from the now Mansfield University in Mansfield, Penn. I am certified to teach Theatre, Speech, and English in the state of Texas. UIL Cross-Examination Debate at State Competition

Cole's Cross-Examination Debate Team of Stephanie Rhodes and Akyma Bush attended State Competition on March 13th. Competing at the Conference 3A level were over 60 teams from throughout the state. Our team did a great job and won 2 out of 4 prelim rounds with great speaker points. Although our team did not break into the Octo-finals for the 14th, our Team was still thrilled to carry on the tradition of being State Qualifiers. The 2016 - 2017 season was Cole's 7th straight year in a row. Go, Courgars!

UIL One Act Play District Results!

This year's One Act Play was "David's Mother" by Bob Randall. Cole competed against 6 other schools and took Alternate on March 7th in Dripping Springs. We had a lot of new comers to the stage, who did a fantastic job!. Rhianna Mazariegos took a Tech Award; Shania Silva was awarded Honorable Mention All-Star Cast; and winning All-Star Cast was Brenna Brown. Our Cole Thespians should be proud of their achievement this year. Go Cougars and the Arts!
By the way, "David's Mother" will have 2 performances on the Moseley Gym Stage on March 28th and 30th at 7 PM. Our competition play will last for 40 minutes. Admission is Free! Hoping to see you there!

I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!

Hello Cole! I'm returning this coming Monday the 17th! You've managed just swell without me this first quarter. Ms. Johnson and Ms. Cox had many comments about "you", my students, regarding your willingness to take responsibility for your learning and help each other. To my Professional Communication classes, don't worry about covering all the material. You will complete it all. I have faith. To my Theatre Arts classes, we've a lot to explore - etiquette, acting - monologues, duets, & scenes, play structure & analysis, history, make-up, lighting, sound, & extreme theatre. Last but not the least, Debate, ever so patient Debate, we've got to get ready for La Vernia - Nov. the 5th. Does everyone have a CX partner? Can you identify different types of Aff. cases, create a DA, talk the jargon (but not in front of the judge), build a plan, etc., etc. I've missed you all, and can't to see you.

Hurrah for the One Act Play

Cole has done fantastic again! March 22nd, "I Hate Hamlet" advanced to the bi-district level for the 2015 - 2016 year. Watch for announcements for the Fall Production - a murder/mystery/audience participation/dinner theatre event.

Cole swept the Cross-Examination Debate District Competition at Fox Tech on Feb. 11, 2016. Stephanie Rhodes and German Davila took 1st Place; Gabriela Sanchez and Shania Silva won 2nd Place, and Deyvid Thompson and Hannah Baca followed with a 3rd Place sweep. All three teams attended State Competition at UT Austin on March 14th and 15th. Congratulations Cougars! This was Cole's 7th year in a row at State.
