Classroom Rules, Policies & Procedures

CLASSROOM RULES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. BE here! You need to be in the classroom when the bell rings or you will be counted tardy. If you are tardy on a frequent basis you'll be on my mental list of kids who don't care about my class. :( If you are more than 10 minutes late to class you'll be counted absent.
  2. BE responsible! Be on time and come prepared. Bring all needed supplies & materials to class and know your school Google account login and password. Come to class ready to work.
  3. BE respectful!  Be kind, polite and respectful to each other, to me and to guests. If you don't have anything positive to say, stay quiet. Don't use phones or other electronic devices at inappropriate times. It's just rude.
  4. BE awesome! Encourage, help and support each other. Be brave and take risks! Make the most of your time in this class and learn, learn, learn!
GENERAL CLASSROOM POLICIES:
1.) Entering/Exiting Classroom: Students are to WALK into the classroom calmly and quietly. There is expensive equipment in my classroom that can be (and has been in the past) damaged by carelessness. Students should sanitize their hands before sitting at their desk and touching the computer equipment. At the end of class, students should REMAIN SEATED until I have released the class.
2.) Backpacks/Bags: Upon entering the classroom, all student backpacks and bags are to be placed over by the windows facing the front of the school on any available table or chair by the windows, or on the floor. Bags are NOT allowed under the computer desks/tables, under the whiteboard, by teacher's desk, nor in the aisles.
3.) Movement: Unless I've instructed otherwise, students should remain seated at their desk. Rolling around in chairs is NOT allowed. Students are NOT allowed to leave class during instruction. One student at a time may go to the bathroom during non-instruction time. All students must sign in/out on the form hanging on the green clipboard by the door. At the end of class students should log off their accounts on the student computers then sit and wait for class to be released. Be mindful of others' personal space when entering and exiting the room!
4.) Food & Beverages are NOT allowed in the computer lab unless instructed otherwise by me.
TECHNOLOGY POLICIES:
1.) Electronic Devices: Use of handheld electronic devices such as cell phones, tablets, etc., at inappropriate times such as during instruction, is rude and prohibited. Devices that are ill-used in my classroom will be collected by me and the student may pick it up only at the end of the school day.
