Meet Mrs. Hanna!

Hello Cougars!

I am the Computer Science and Cybersecurity teacher at Cole HS, and I've been teaching here since the 2010-2011 school year. Prior to this school/district, I taught Computer Science at Churchill High School in the Northeast Independent School District for 2 years from August 2008 - May 2010. Before that I was in an entirely different career in the corporate world. Straight out of college I worked in Information Technology (IT) for 3 major companies (Exxon/Mobil, Sprint and USAA) for 18 years before becoming an educator. I had various IT jobs/roles at these companies ranging from computer programmer, to senior programmer/analyst, to IT project manager, as well as IT resource manager in charge of a team of computer programmers.

I graduated from Texas A&M University (WHOOP!) in August 1990. I majored in Computer Science in the school of engineering, but had an interest in business so I switched and graduated with a degree in BANA (Business Analysis/Management Information Systems), which was Computer Science with an emphasis on business. I am married with two children (boys, Hayes & Zach), and my husband is also an Aggie (WHOOP!). My older son Hayes is now also an Aggie sophomore at TAMU! (Double WHOOP!!) We have a little Schnauzer dog named Snickers.

Although I loved my career in the corporate world, after I started teaching in 2008 I never looked back. Teaching is my passion and I hope to be doing it for many years to come! I love it here at Fort Sam Houston ISD. I think this is a great school and district that gives students many opportunities to explore their interests, grow their skills, and develop into productive members of society!

Come see me upstairs in the high school Room 20. I'd love to meet you!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Hanna
